Server

As a Food Server with the Residence at Littledale you are responsible for creating an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. You will engage and support our residents by serving meals in a friendly and skilled manner to promote resident enjoyment, independence, dignity, and socialization.

Job Type: Casual, Call-In. Availability must be flexible during mornings, afternoons and evenings. Shifts starting times: 6:30 am , 11am, 4pm

Responsibilities:

  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction by providing menu knowledge and timely, accurate order taking.
  • Communicate changes in resident’s behavior or eating patterns to healthcare team as required.
  • Set-up dining room and serveries for meal service and perform post-meal clean-up duties.
  • Perform set-up, serving, and clean-up tasks at special events.
  • Unpack and store supplies, ensuring work environments are sanitary and organized.
  • Operate food service equipment and complete general cleaning routines.
  • Communicate order details to kitchen using POS system.
  • Attend in-services and staff meetings as requested.
  • Work cooperatively with all other departments to ensure a quality client service experience for residents, guests, and co-workers.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience in a large dining establishment, hospitality environment, or similar customer service setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to treat residents with respect, dignity, and care.
  • Experience working with elderly in a seniors’ community or other professional setting considered an asset.
  • FOODSAFE Certification considered an asset.

Requirements:

  • Current Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Standing for extended periods of time, as well as lifting and carrying heavy trays and items.
