Licensed Practical Nurse
The Residence at Littledale is currently recruiting a casual Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing care team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Residence, you will provide exemplary client care and services while leading other members of the healthcare team to do the same.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document and direct client needs in consultation with internal staff, Nursing Management, and other medical/healthcare professionals.
- Work with management and healthcare service teams to promote communication and compliance of policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of client care plans as per company policy and scope of practice.
- Maintain the standard of accurate and complete documentation and reporting.
- Apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy.
- Administer medications and assist residents with personal care.
- Assist with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other healthcare staff.
- Promote client-directed care, self- care and independence through teaching and encouragement.
- Incorporate current research findings into clinical practices.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL).
- Physical Assessment, Palliative/ Hospice Care experience preferred.
- Previous experience working in a senior’s independent living environment and/or long-term care preferred.
- Alzheimer’s and/ or other Dementia Care courses are considered an asset.
Requirements:
- Evening and weekend work required.
- Valid Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Applicable Medical Immunizations.
