Frequently Asked

This is the beginning of a new chapter in your life, and we understand you have many questions. Here are some answers to the questions we’re most frequently asked. If you don’t see the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us.

Is a lease required? What about a deposit? +

Yes, a lease is required. It details your rights and our obligations. A deposit is also required to hold your suite. It is fully refundable, and included in your first month’s rent should you chose to live at The Residence.

What will be included? +

Peace of mind that comes from carefree, convenient living. Each suite features a kitchenette (microwave and mini-fridge) to prepare light meals and snacks, individual controls for heat and air-conditioning, light housekeeping and maintenance, weekly laundry services for linens, 24-hour security, and a variety of recreational activities at your fingertips, including a seasonal greenhouse. For your safety and security, each suite is also equipped with a nurse call system that can be used for any emergency.

Will my rent increase? +

Yes, there will be a nominal increase each year based on the cost of living to ensure we can maintain our standard of quality and service. This is calculated on the anniversary date of your occupancy.

Will I need a health assessment to live here? +

Our highly-trained nursing staff will meet with you before you move in to conduct a brief assessment to determine your specific needs.

If my health needs change, do you provide care services? +

Yes, we do. Our wellness team is led by registered healthcare professionals whose goal is to keep you living independently for as long as possible. Flexible care services are offered as part of a personal wellness plan to assist you when you need it. Care is provided as part of our Assisted Living option for those who need help with the activities of daily living.

Can I bring my personal items and decorate my space? +

Absolutely. Your living space is yours to make your own. We encourage you to bring your own furniture and personal belongings, and we’ll take care of paint and flooring. We would like you to be mindful of items that can pose a tripping or safety hazard.

Will I have to purchase a meal plan? +

Our full-service dining room allows you to enjoy healthy, well-balanced meals with no preparation or clean up. Though each suite is equipped with a microwave and refrigerator to prepare light snacks and meals, stoves are not included. To ensure you are meeting your nutritional needs, we require you to purchase a meal plan.

Can I have meals delivered to my suite? +

Yes you can. We offer complimentary meal service in your suite if our medical staff determines you are unable to join us in the dining room. Otherwise, in-suite dining is available for a nominal fee.

If I have dietary restrictions, can they be accommodated? +

Of course. Our Registered Dietitian will assist with all meal planning and address individual dietary concerns or medical issues as needed.

Can I smoke in my suite? +

The Residence is a non-smoking and non-vaping facility. This includes the consumption of marijuana, medical or otherwise, in cigarette or vapour form.

What amenities do you offer? +

We offer social and recreational activities for all abilities and ages. Our theatre, salon, multi-purpose kitchen, dining rooms, café, lounges, and other common areas are available for use at your convenience.

How secure is our building? +
